Well call me stupid but I picked up the phone and called the embassy prior to planning my last run - and guess what. nooooooooo problem! As I am in a foriegn nation I choose to hold myself most responsible for knowing what the f is going on with my visa issues. What's that saying? Oh yea, be prepared.

Well As others have read the thread Singapore run, I will coclude my final damages here....1. we needed to make our visa run 2. a local (friend) was supporting us with a social 6mo visa.. 3.said friend was "helping us with the travel agent ----heres the good part 1.our flight was arriving in singapore at friday-beffore a holiday weekend- visa office was shutting down at noon- the whole schedule had to be re-arranged, the travel agent said there would be charges incured for the flight change and the hotel reservations-we fought it but had to give, as time was running out..2.the amount for the first trip $2400 was not taken off my credit card- but the "new" trip of $2800 was added...I always thought they should have known the visa office was closed at noon and should have paid the difference...3. the hotel was of poor quality ------------after arriving back in the states I coplained to my credit card company- an investigation insued, the findings were 1. no charges were added by the airlines nor the hotel-lie 2. around $400 dollars went towards my "friend"....gee thx for the "help" --- the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth--- it seemed they tried to shaft me in any little direction--- I would rather hear the truth than all the little sneaky bullshit in trying to get the most out of the bule,, but I guess that is how things work in paradise....lesson learned..

Yes DCC, I was lucky "I" called and found out they were closed at noon that day... otherwise the trip and story would have been worse, especially with kids in tow......

A little clarification- the friend in reference to the additional $400 charge was basically a"broker" phone person, in a small office, not my social visa sponsor!! Matter of fact- he prob. screwed things up,, the main office was in kuta, should deal with them direct- not a broker...... thx, frog
